The event makes part of the Internet Revolution whose purpose is to encourage SME to act boldly on the Web. Wrocław is the first Polish city to host The Internet Revolution Day.
According to SMG/KRC research, almost half of small and medium companies in Poland don’t have an Internet page. The Internet Revolution organisers, Google, home.pl, PKPP Lewiatan, and the patron, the Ministry of Economy, would like to change it. On the Internet Revolution Day, all entrepreneurs will be given a chance to learn how to introduce their companies to the Internet and why it is so important.
Visiting entrepreneurs and students may see one of four zones concerning i.a. springing up on the Web, promotion and advertising on the Internet and ways of cooperation with interactive agencies.
The series of lectures and presentations will provide the guests with information on how to choose a Web address, what should appear on the website and how to promote it.

The Internet Revolution is the action purporting to entourage Polish entrepreneurs to be actively present on the Web. The action is organised by Google, Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan and home.pl with the patronage of the Ministry of Economy. The Internet Revolution provides every SME in Poland with free registration of an Internet domain, creation of first Internet page, create a profile on Web maps, try an advertising campaign on the Web and learn more on being online and efficient use of the Internet in their activity. Thanks to a free starting kit, all SME in Poland can spring up on the Web with no risk nor costs.
The action started up in October 2009 and until now, 29,000 companies from all over Poland joined it. 2,024 enterprises from Lower Silesia has done this until now, including 1,036 companies from the city of Wrocław. We want the Internet Revolution Day in Wrocław to encourage even more companies to appear on the Internet.
