Students from Wrocław go to Mongolia

The arrangements before the extraordinary trip of three young students from Wrocław to Mongolia are almost over. Extraordinary, as MONGOLIAng is not just a visit to a wonderful country but, first of all, help for local community including English classes for the young.

They don't want to sit at home or spend their holidays sitting under a palm tree or watching sunset from the deck chair. They want to do something for others. The idea of the extraordinary trip to some Asian country was born almost one year ago. The journey of three Lower Silesian students begins on 16th August, to be finished a month later. Trans-Siberian Railroad will take them to Ulan Bator where they begin almost one month of English language classes with the youngest inhabitants of the country of steppes.

Michał Działowski who completed undergraduate studies in the Wrocław School of Banking is one of the travelers. Why Mongolia?

' Upon reading travel diaries of other people, I realised Mongolia was not a popular destination. There was nothing interesting there from the prospective tourist's point of view', said  Michał.

Many people visit Siberia looking for untouched nature. Mongolia remains a rarely frequented country, often forgotten by NGOs. We wanted both student passion and adventure and English is the chance and the future of the young inhabitants of the country that is known mostly for its steppes. Knowledge of languages will be an advantage sometime later in their lives. This might be a wonderful inspiration for further studies and educational challenges.

Other members of MONGOLIAng are the students of International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław - Łukasz Łasa and Jacek Afeltowicz. More details are available on their official blog: wyprawa-mongolia.blogspot.com.

The trip is sponsored by Wrocław School of Banking (main sponsor) and International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław.
